I am in South of France with my family, a few kilometers away from Nice where a few hours ago a terrorist attacked. In Nice, people gathered in great numbers to watch the traditional fireworks celebrating our National Day (Bastille Day). A madman, now confirmed to be a French-Tunisian 31 year old man, drove a truck into the crowd, killing 84 people (18 more are in critical care). At least 50 children were injured, many died. These terrorists try to destroy what we represent: our nonchalance, our joie de vivre, our youth, our hopes. These cowards want us to hate and panic. They want us to blame our Muslim friends for the horrors they inflict. We will not give way to their madness. We will not bow, we will not fade away. We will keep loving and celebrating, we will keep partying, kissing, drinking wine, wearing whatever we want, we will keep believing in the gods we want, or no gods at all. We will keep photographing puppies in flower crowns, too 🤗 (well at least I will!!). We will keep stretching our hands out to help our fellow human beings and together, we will make sure light prevails over obscurity and nothingness. With much love to all of you. 🇫🇷💚 . This puppy was adopted! From @luvabledogrescue #PitBullFlowerPower #PitBullFlowerPowerOR #ViveLaFrance

Take me home!!! Well, literally, I want to be home now! My plane was delayed, so I missed my 2nd plane and now waiting and waiting... I can't wait to be in my French home 💚💚😍 Luther also, wants to be home! This sweet gentleman is waiting at @luvabledogrescue in Eugene OR. It's hard to imagine what he went through. When Luther was rescued by @luvabledogrescue (Eugene OR), he was "a hairless mess" as they put it. And he had horrible burns and injuries, including burns on his bottom, which I saw photos of, and which really looked like someone literally sat him on a barbecue grill 🙁. Since his ordeal, Luther has been rescued and nursed back to health. And... he loves everybody!! It's hard to understand how these dogs can be so forgiving, but they truly are! Luther is everybody's favorite hunk at Luvable - especially the girls!! Luther has lots of charm and personality. He loves being around other dogs and is very mellow and respectful. Even when other dogs are intensely playing, he stands back just observing with a happy tail. Omg such a cutie. He would do great in a home with other dogs, and where he can be adored by his humans! He is a "snorty snuggler" (yeah you know those! So cute). If you need more to see how perfection this boy is, well, he is crate trained too! Luther lives happily in the moment and loves meeting new dogs and people! If you are interested in adopting him, please email Adoptions@Luvabledogrescue.org for an application or visit www.LuvableDogRescue.org. Reminder: until July 1st I am selling prints of these sweet dogs to raise funds for Luvable! check http://printstore.sophiegamand.com/fundraiserluvableFP (link is in my bio too). #PitBullFlowerPower #PitBullFlowerPowerOR #photographysaveslives #endBSL #adoptdontshop #sophiegamand

I am a little in love with Connor on his #PitBullFlowerPower portrait!! This beautiful pup is available at @luvabledogrescue (Eugene, OR). You can buy this image as a print and help me raise funds for Luvable, to help them in their mission! Follow the link in my bio and have a look at the 2 first galleries. I will donate 50% of the proceeds 👌 . Connor was adopted at 9 weeks old and later returned, untrained... 😩😑 So now he needs a new adopter, someone that understands the need for structure and training, but who is also big on cuddling! Connor wasn't walked by his previous adopter, so he is excitable (or maybe because he was excitable?). Bikes, other dogs, skateboards, everything makes him excited. This is something the trainers at Luvable have been working on and he is doing awesome! He is a smart pup who loves people and snuggling. He enjoys his training sessions, and chilling in his own little cottage. He is great with kids but at this time he is recommended for an adult house only, just because he's made so much progress, we don't want him to fall back into old habits . Not cat for Connor, and fenced-in yard recommended. Apply for this sweetheart at adoptions@luvabledogrescue.org or visit luvabledogrescue.org for more info. . Special thanks to @afloral for donating flowers! I had so much fun creating Connor's crown with your gorgeous products. #PitBullFlowerPower #PitBullFlowerPowerOR #adoptdontshop #endBSL #photographysaveslives

(Edited for length, read full post on my FB). Indie an Choco have caused quite the stir! These two adorable, sweet senior pits are available as a bonded pair via @luvabledogrescue in Eugene OR. #PitBullFlowerPower After my previous posts, things got a little heated on my FB page. My initial caption mentioned they had been "dumped" at a high kill shelter by their owner, a military who was being deployed oversea (I edited to "left at a shelter"). Some people got vocal about how offensive the word "dumped" was, when directed toward a service member. I have to say, I never saw such strong reactions against similar posts about "regular" dog owners abandoning their dogs. It really felt like double standards, but I think it just shows that when people feel they can relate, they are able to show more empathy. And that’s always a good thing! The fact is, we will probably never know what state of mind this guy was in. The human being in me wants to believe he didn’t know better. The animal advocate in me screams: really?! You are telling me there was no info, no resources available anywhere? I try to stay as compassionate as possible on my page, and trust me when you see and hear all I witness every day, it’s not an easy task. So I decided to turn Indie and Choco’s story into something positive. I searched for options for military people being deployed, and have learned that there are some pretty amazing org which provide foster homes for pets whose owners are deployed. I have never worked with them so I cannot vouch for them, but it’s a good place to start. Some are local, some are national. I wish and hope that service members know about these options. I also hope that if you are looking to foster a pet, and are sensitive to the military topic, you will consider these org. They always need more foster homes: @pactforanimals - @dogsondeployment -Guardianangelsforsoldierspet.org - Arizona Humane Society - militarymuttsranch.com (CA). . This is a reminder that when you have a pet, it’s important to have back up plans (you never know what can happen in life). Behind a broken system that euthanizes millions of pets, there are lots of people going through hard times.

Sweet little Buddy Love from @mrbonesandco has been crashing at my place these days! Check out some candid videos in the video feature of IG (click on my profile pic). He is a tiny, sweet, smart little bundle of love! Unofficially a Beagle - pittie - dachshund mix, he also looks very much like a low-rider version of a plotthound! At 8 weeks old, he has everything he needs to discover life: energy, youth and curiosity, and he does it with appetite, and a sense of adventure! Buddy is really keen on listening at directions, he enjoys snuggling when he is tired. He is a one-of-a-kind puppy, already house trained, crate trained, sleeps through the night... And knows how to sit for food, despite his great enthusiasm for snacks! To apply for him, visit www.mrbonesandco.org/adoption-application. #PitBullFlowerPower #AdoptDontShop #EndBSL #PitBullFlowerPowerNY
