Przedstawienie w reżyserii Trevora Nunna jest pierwszym jego wznowieniem od premiery w 1973 roku. Wtedy wystawiono je ponad 600 razy i zdobyło aż sześć nagród Tony w tym za Najlepszy Musical i Najlepszą Muzykę. „A Little Night Music” oparty jest na podstawie filmu Ingmara Bergmana „Smiles Of A Summer Night”. Akcja toczy się pod koniec XIX wieku w wiejskiej posiadłości w Szwecji a fabuła koncentruje na historii aktorki Desiree Armfeldt, granej przez Zeta-Jones, którą otacza pajęczyna zmysłowości, pożądania i intryg. Płyta zawiera jedne z najbardziej znanych kompozycji Stephena Sondheima - "Send in the Clowns", "Every Day a Little Death", "The Miller's Son" oraz "A Weekend in the Country".
